Knitwear

Hey!

Oh, it's sooo beautifull outside right now, You will not believe, I was riding a bike in a short sleeve t-shirt!
AMAZING FEELING :D still summer-ish!

Well, I would like to share my new personal project with you which I started like 2 weeks ago. It all begun with knitting gloves, and after I saw my friend doing knitwear assignment I thought wow, maybe I should also push myself do to something bigger? Ha! I have already made one sweater. It was blue and almost see through because of the pattern, and it has... bell sleeves :D! Super hippie! I was photographed in it in primary school when I won the first prize in the competition about writing a story connected with the city I lived in. Ha :D

So now, this is my second attempt as the other one was 10 years ago ( say what? am I that old? )
I found a fancy crochet pattern called raspberry knitt. I changed it a little... and instead of raspberries, I created BUBBLES!

What do you think? Apart from the fact that its big, super warm and nice next to skin? :)

Now I have a bag of ideas for new sweaters but yeah, not that big bag of money... :)

Creative form

Hi all!!

It's so good to be a TEKO student again. We finally started some creative stuff here ar BA-TOP UP!
The project is called "creative form" and it's based on creating garment inspired by the chosen sculpture.
The first day we were introduced into the aim and general idea of the project, as well as to the samples and workshops. We started from creating swatches of various fabric/plastic/paper installation ideas, I mean, we were using those three things to develop a nice structure on a square thick paper.
It was a challenge for me haha :)

Those here are my samples, I am quite dissapointed with what I did with plastic, people did fantastic things!

And then, YAAAAY , we had to transfer our swatches on mannequin, and create a sculpture out of chosen eithe paper, fabric or  plastic, it was also possible to mix things together. I chose fabric, and started with no idea as the teacher asked not to plan and just LET IT GO, let it develop, let it grow. Sooo, well, I think my idea is like woven spaghetti, and I really wish to finish it, put some more volume and tangle it even  more!

Now we have to find pictures which will show the image of the chosen sculpture.
My sculpture is made by a polish, still living ( 94 years old ) artist, Magdalena Abakanowicz.
I chose her piece "Turqouise Abakan" because.. it's simply amazing!!

I have a lot of key words of things I see here, we were doing a lot of investigations and teacher gave us feedback whether our sculpture is good for this project or not.
My keywords for this sculpture are:
  • connection
  • mother nature
  • earth
  • human body
  • veins
  • symbiosis
  • misty, old forest
  • two bats hanging together
  • electricity
  • jungle
  • thunders
  • wires
  • organs

So I searched all the Internets and found interesting pictures, I will just show you few of them as my folder indicates the number of 50

Hopefully tommorow we will start sketching! :)

AUGUST

Hey, guess what!
It's august, and I am sitting there in my  room in Denmark, looking outside how the rain stops on  windows and... KNITTING GLOVES! Isn't that hilarious? But seriously, it's unbelievably cold here, it should be sunny, warm and pretty, not windy rainy and ugly!! I already caught a cold... Yeah, ear inflammation, antibiotics and stuff like that... Yessss... That's why I stayed home, I can go with sore throat but not with ear, I cannot stand the pain!
Anyways, I am enjoying my time, fashion research will not do just itself, but yeah, gloves are so far much more involving ;)

aaand I even made the pattern  myself ;)

DENMARK IGEN

Lets go back to June 2013.
I was packing my stuff, selling what I could, and saying goodbye to every possible living and non living creature. There was no chance that I would come back. My head was full of thousand thoughts but definetely not a one about coming back here was there. And then, I applied to the BA degree, and then I got the interview, and then.. I got addmited! That really was a surprise cause the portfolio I made was seriously crappy ( in my opinion )...
And now,  lectures already started and through various project about networking and power of will I met  a lot of new people, at least 4 of them looked at me with this 'WOOOOOW' look which I totally don't understand saying YOU MUST BE REALLY GREAT! and me says : aeee what? why? BECAUSE not so many people get that opportunity !
I still believe that judges made a mistake. Fatal mistake. But, I am super happy that I am back here. I got my life back!

New illustration that I made for one of our projects
Keep your fingers all crossed for me!!

BUDAPEST'14

In June, me and my dad, decided to make a trip to Budapest. I was  not much concerned, I thought this city is not worth a visit.

Oh my god.

I couldnt be more wrong!!

I liked everything, to begin with giant old bridges, architecture, funny language, even funnier money, atmosphere, metro, food and culture!
AAAh... and my favourite... warm thermal bathssss :))

Big yes for Budapest and Hungary!!

This soup here is the best tomato soup I ever ate!!

Travelling Cat

Hello everybody!
Yesterday I've been drawing a new Travelling Cat for you! Hope you like them, It's something totally totally mine..:) Now my Cat has travelled a really long way from Poland, he arrived to Kansas, city of sunflowers! Unfortunately, he turned up at night, so there is not much he could see.. :)

It's raining as hell here, the storm is over and fortunately I don't hear any thunders ( I am super super scared of lightenings and thunders, but I really love to stay behind the window and just watch the sky ) but I already can see on the Facebook that my city is kind of flooded and not really good for using a car, more  for canoe or something like that..
My holidays were pretty cool, although they were not planned and things that were planned didn't work out :) I've been to Sanok, where I visited the Museum of Art and got totally in a deep love with Zdzisław Beksiński's work. He was a master. If you have a moment, please see his works, you will understand what I am talking about :)
Or if you are really lazy....:

seriously, I am speechless... What I am doing now is hanging in a hammock with his biography and deeply studying how he became a genius.

I wish I could be a genius one day.

*************************************************************************
Soon I am off to Denmark. I am scared, super scared. Things will be different as now it's the BA degree ( I completed the AP degree in fashion design which is 2 years, and BA at TEKO is 1,5 year )

The only thing that I am sure of is that I would like to be sooo good to have an internship at Isabel Marant...
Yesss, that would be brilliant, maybe my passion for fashion will wake up, as you may noticed, recently I've been more into painting and drawing.

And I want to have a six pack, that's for sure!!  :)
Today my new training shoes arrived, they were on sale and as I earned a little money on commisioned painting, I can afford them now :) later will I consider... hehe!
This particular model is called adidas adipure 360 tr and they costed me 250zł which is arounndd 60 euro.

I already have a pair of nikes, buttt.. but they don't really support my feet well, they're just pretty and comfortable for calm sports, definetely not for badminton or crossfit :)

This post is super mixed but I hope you don't mind, it's just that I have a lot to share :)

RECYCLING OLD T-SHIRTS

The idea of recycling old t-shirt into thick yarns appeared long time ago and it's still up to date :)
I think it's a brilliant idea!!
So I decided to make big pillows for yoga and not only... :)
